We are on a raw food diet. Ronja, our daughter has almost never eaten anything else as raw food, and even throughout the pregnancy, she was fed with raw nature power. She has never been ill in her whole life. We are currently not eating 100% raw food all the time, but about 99% of the time. Because we wanted also to check everything from the scientific side, we went to a doctor at the end of this pregnancy to check minerals and vitamin levels. (Katie was lacking iron, calcium and magnesium at both pregnancies before, eventhough we already ate mostly organic and healthy) And do you know what the results from this blood test made by an independant institue during this pregnancy on a raw food diet were? There was no lack at all in any mineral or vitamin level ! The levels were all totally OK! I think this explains it all! A pregnant woman has such high needs in nutrients, and they were all covered. This proof of our doctor gave us really peace of mind and we went on!
To make one thing clear here: We don't preach the 100% raw food diet, as the one and only solution. For most of us it is just about eating a high-raw diet. This is what we all can achieve! You do not have to go 100% to experience real health. We met so many people and families in our life, who were not living a pure raw food lifestyle, who were so healthy and vibrant, and also met raw children, that were too thin, too small and not thriving at all. It is not only about the diet. There are so many factors that make us und our children healthy and happy. And just focusing only on the diet, can produce stress, which is preventing the health benefits you can gain by eating healthy. Our diet is not the most important aspect of life, but still: It is important! This diet works just good for us, because we really know what we do, and how we have to do it. And we would like to show you, how to do things right as well!
You can say, that we never felt better in our entire lifes! We eat a variety of fully ripe organic, fruits, loads of veggies, avocados, olives, nuts and coconuts as high quality protein source and many dark green leafy veggies (also some wild edibles!) for the mineral needs. We also add some natural superfoods.
